Greene County Medical Center is seeking community members to sew handmade isolation gowns to use as personal protective equipment (PPE).
The Iowa Department of Public Health on April 9 issued a PPE shortage order. The medical center is doing all that is necessary to preserve the PPE on hand. Any additional PPE that can be donated is of great value and will help protect staff who have been directed to wear protective equipment.
Those who would like to make PPE gowns can download the instructions and pattern from the Medical Center website at gcmchealth.com.covid-19.
Finished gowns can be dropped off at the materials management delivery door on the north side of the Medical Center Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1 and 3:30 pm. A drop-off map is also available on the website. Donors will have the option of filling out a Giving in Kind” form, which would make the donation tax deductible.
